Advent

Advent is the time of year when the Church prepares to celebrate the coming (adventus) of Jesus in his incarnation.
Services, readings and liturgy point us to the birth with purple being the traditional liturgical colour.
Advent in Britain falls at the darkest time of the year so symbols of light play a big part in the season. Candles are lit and the custom of Christingle will be celebrated on 15th December at 10.30am along with the Family Parade Service.
